Jakobi Church

Jakobi Church conducted a Mass and Christening of a young Felix on Sept 3, 2023. A lot of people attended and celebrated the occasion along with the parents, his big sister, as well as the godparents.
My little sister also celebrated her 33rd Birthday on this day which reminded me of the very first day I set foot in Germany, Frankfuhrt Airport to be exact, 3 years ago. Quite a spectacular day filled with synchronicities.
Jakobi Church locally known as Jakobi Christophorus Kirchgemeinde is located at Dresdner Str. 1 09599 Freiberg. This is an evangelical church which is open to worshipers from every background. Masses are conducted every Sunday at 10 AM to 11:30 AM.
It's a 3 Minute Drive from Freiberg Main Train Station or a 14 minute Walk. There's a bus stop near the Church called Dresdner Straße/Donatsfriedhof Freiberg. Buses travel differently on the weekends. You can take Bus 750 or B from the Main train station until the Main Bus Station and from there take Bus C further to get to the Freiberg, Dresdner Str/Donatsfriedhof. Yes that's right. Beside the Church is a cementary, Friedhof means Cementary in German. At the Back of the Church is Donatsfriedhof. A Sachsich King was burried there.
The Church faces an intersection with traffic lights on both corners. From the bus stop simply take either and remember to cross the pedestrian lane when the green running man is on. This intersection could get busy and you may witness an Ambulance rushing though to reach the district Hospital called Kreiskrankenhaus Freiberg just down the road.

A children Mass was also held at a nearby building beside the main Church. At the end of the service, Social Workers called out for voluteers who would like to lend a hand in caring for the refugee children. Displaced children are particularly vulnerable and having good hearted adults around could turn their lives around.
